Orangeburg pipe is expiring. Here's what you need to know.
We've been seeing more and more Orangeburg pipe in our inspections. It was a clever solution to the steel shortages during WWII, and its reputation as an inexpensive building material kept it popular into the '60s. Its reputation then became one of premature failure and was eventually banned from use in international building codes in the early '70s.
