Mr. Chittaranjan Tripathy - Director, National School of Drama

Mr. Chittaranjan Tripathy, is an accomplished director, writer, actor, and musician. He completed his M.A. in Sociology at the University of Hyderabad before joining the National School of Drama, where he specialized in acting. With a strong foundation in music from his father, a pala gayak, he further honed his skills under Guru Shri Bhaskar Chandra Das and obtained Sangeet Visharad in Oddisi vocal from Prachin Kala Kendra, Chandigarh.

Mr. Tripathy is a practicing director/writer/actor/musician in the areas of theatre, television and film. He has directed plays for many leading theatre groups and repertory companies including the National School of Drama Repertory Company, the Shri Ram Centre Repertory and the Sahitya Kala Parishad Rang Mandal.

Some of his most popular plays include Taj Mahal Ka Tender with NSD Repertory Company; Capitol Express, Arre Mayavi Sarovar with SRC Repertory; Ladi Nazaria and Humare Sheher Ke Romeo Juliet with Sahitya Kala Parishad Rang Mandal; Gunno Bai and Yahudi ki Ladki with Yavanika; Darling Darling and TajMahal Ka Udghatan with Navras, and Are Shareef Log and Shabarh Anarkali with Masosa, Nsd student productions ‘Cjor Machaye Shor, Rat Baki, Shorwala Natak, Andhera Kamra Sacha Pyaar and many more.
