COVID-19: South Korea imposes stricter social distancing measures in greater Seoul area

South Korea will impose stricter social distancing measures after it reported triple-digit new COVID-19 cases for over a week. Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun said the situation is particularly serious in the Seoul metropolitan area. Under the new restrictions, public gatherings of 100 people or more will be banned. Religious and sporting venues will only be allowed to hold events at 30% capacity. At schools, only two-thirds of students will also be allowed in classrooms.
