Eclipse Totality over Mazatlán, Mexico - as Zona Dorada Rooftop Crowds Cheer - April 8, 2024
This video was filmed from the rooftop of the Fiesta Inn in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico - from about 10 minutes before until 15 minutes after eclipse totality.
Most folks were out with solar telescopes filming the moon/sun, but I though it'd be interesting to document the changes to the landscapes and surrounding city.
While this is a view in just one direction - the entire horizon all the way around appeared as an incredible, focused, and bright sunrise. Being elevated to a couple hundred feet around the surrounding coastal plains allowed for a unique view where you could really see the entirety of totality as a circle all the way extending around where we were near the middle.
I've also posted a couple quicker timelapses.
