Design For All | Isaac Mizrahi

Sit down with fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi at his NYC studio as he revisits major life moments and shares the influences that shaped his career.

In 1986, when the young designer launched his first line, Isaac and a team of seamstresses made the clothes by hand — a time-intensive process which necessitated big price tags. However, Isaac wanted to be able to reach a larger audience. So he made a cultural commitment to figure out how to design less expensive clothes that could be “as resonant and important as the very expensive clothes.”

As Isaac says: “Design is anything we say it is, from moment to moment. There really is nothing that separates high and low.”
