Anton Bosch tells the story of the move to Sun Valley and God's miraculous provision.

History of our Congregation
October 1968 – Meetings were started in “The Upper Room Chapel” at 1832W Burbank Blvd in Burbank
December 1969 – Church rented California Theaters, 3310 W Magnolia Blvd, Burbank and began meeting in the old theater
1973 – The theater was purchased by the church
c1986 – The congregation moved to temporary premises while the theater was being converted to a church building.
October 1988 – Magnolia renovations completed and dedicated
December 2003 – Pastor Jones retired and Br Bosch became the interim pastor – later to become the pastor.
June 2008 – The Magnolia property was sold but escrow only closed in February 2009.

History of the Sun Valley Buildings
1917 – Meetings started in the area
1920 – The land was “sold” to “Roscoe Methodist Episcopal Church” for $10.
C1924 – The original church building constructed on, what is now, the parking lot.
1964 – The current sanctuary constructed and the old sanctuary converted to a fellowship hall
1969 – Property was transferred to United Methodist Church
1972 – Fellowship hall constructed – originally planned and constructed to later house a second floor which was never built. The original sanctuary was demolished around this time. The stained glass cross and crown and corner stone is all that remains of the original building
November 2008 – Sun Valley Community Methodist Church sold the property to Burbank Community Church.
February 2009 – We moved to Sun Valley from Burbank and began to meet in the chapel in its unrenovated state. We changed our name to Sun Valley Community Church.
March 25, 2009 – Work commenced on Fellowship hall. While meeting in the chapel. (We used porta-potties for 6 months)
July 2009 – Fellowship hall was completed and we moved our meetings to the Fellowship Hall and work on Chapel began.
January 24, 2010 – The Chapel was completed and we held our first meeting in the chapel, one week short of exactly a year after we moved.
February 7, 2010 – Our first potluck in the fellowship hall
March 14, 2010. The buildings dedicated to the Lord with grateful hearts for His provision.
