Day 20 New York, New York, Luxor and Excalibur
The sun disappeared and it was a cloudy day. We explored New York New York, Luxor, and Excalibur, the three hotels closest to the MGM Grand. In the evening we used our discounted tickets to see KÀ by Cirque du Soleil. It was utterly amazing!

Day 21 Meeting Stuart, Exploring the Venetian
Our friend Stuart from Northampton is in Vegas for work, we meet at Denny’s for breakfast and then take a stroll down the strip. It is raining so we seek shelter inside the casino and I introduce Stuart to my favourite casino game which I have named Spin The Wheel, but what is actually called The Big Six. We didn’t win!
After saying goodbye to Stuart, we continue on to the Venetian. After a stroll around and a much-needed cup of tea, we head back to the MGM.

Day 22 Pinball Hall of Fame
It is a rainy day in Vegas so we decide to check out the Pinball Hall of Fame.
I can not express how much fun this place is PLUS, it’s FREE to enter. It is a super cheap trip out that is suitable for all ages!
It is our last day in Vegas so we have one last go on the machines, Glenn plays roulette and I play blackjack.
Day 23 Vegas to the Grand CanyonWe leave Vegas and pick up our hire car. We start our 3-hour drive to the Gand Canyon. The vast landscape and the long straight roads are impressive. We drove through some rain, and the clouds were dramatic. We crossed into Arizona and into a new time zone.Our accommodation for the night was a tiny home on a remote property. Glenn wanted to get there before the light faded so we made a quick stop for groceries in Williams. It was fun to drive down Route 66 briefly. We arrived just as the light was fading and found our tiny home! It was warm, comfortable, and cosy.

Day 24 The Grand Canyon
There are not enough words or pictures that will be able to convey the magnificence of the Grand Canyon. We were rendered speechless by the amazing views. It is a day we will not forget in a hurry.

Day 25 Grand Canyon to LA
The stressful part of the day was not the 8-hour drive from the Grand Canyon but our temperamental SAT NAV that decided to stop working while we were navigating LA’s crazy traffic. I have never been so happy to reach our destination!

Day 26 Malibu
I had no idea Malibu was so close to where we were staying! We walked along the pier, stopping for French Toast, which was delicious!
We stroll along the beach, dipping our toes into the sea.
