What it takes to be successful.

Do you know about the Chinese bamboo?
You plant a seed, water it, provide it with sunlight. It’s got to be taken care of and needs to get the right temperature.
Year one, and it still hasn’t come out of the soil. So you continue to nurture it, then year two, year three, year four passes, and eventually year five, after four years of watering, and nurturing it, it comes out of the soil. Not only does it come out of the soil, but it explodes!
They say that you can even watch it grow because sometimes it grows up to two feet per day.

The reason why I’m telling you this is because it truly hit home for me. I spent three years not seeing much growth and then suddenly it exploded.

You see, even though you weren’t able to see the bamboo’s progress, something was happening. It was making a really deep root system.

You might be in a situation now where it seems like you’re spinning your wheels and nothing is happening. You might want to give up because you’re not seeing any progress.

We live in a world of instant gratification. We can find out whatever it is that we want to by looking at our phone. We can order food if we’re hungry and do not even need to put pants on.
We’ve built a world that has an abundance of instant gratification but your success, your bank account, your happiness, your fitness, all of these things that you want, none of them come instantly. All of them take work.

So many people give up before they get to the point of success that they want to. The only reason that you won’t achieve the success that you dream of is that you’ve given up. If you just don’t stop, you’ll eventually get to where you want to go.

Sure if you look at one day, one habit, one moment it doesn’t look like much. But repeated over, and over, and over again over the span of five to ten years and you’ll be in a completely different situation.
It won’t happen right now, but it will happen.

If you really and truly want something, there is no way that you won’t make it happen. It will work 100%. What will make it NOT work is you not fully believing in yourself, you only giving 90% instead of 100%.

What you want is possible. Just don’t stop!
