Sierra Blanca, Texas

Sierra Blanca is small town in west Texas just northeast of the border with Mexico. The town was founded in 1881 as the junction of the Southern Pacific and Missouri Pacific railroads. The town is very small with only a few shops and run down buildings however the scenery is great. If you are coming up from El Paso then you have to go through a border patrol check point. This check point at one time would send drug offenders to the local court of Sierra Blanca. Some of these offenders were Willie Nelson and Snoop Dog.
