CHILEAN FOOD That We NEVER Expect - Santiago De Chile 🇨🇱

This is our first time trying Chilean food. Is Chilean food delicious? What to eat especially in Santiago, Chile? We explored deep into the local experience and food culture in Santiago, Chile. In this video, you will get to explore with us the highlight of Chilean cuisine.

Food We Found and Tried :
1. Anticucho: Anticuchos are popular meat dishes that originated in the Andes during the pre-Columbian era in Peru, but other Andean states, such as Chile and Bolivia, also adopted the recipe.

2. Tequenos: Tequeño is a fried breaded cheese stick or a spear of bread dough with queso Blanco (Queso = cheese) stuffed in the middle, and is a popular meal or snack in Venezuela, which we also found it in Colombia an in Chile. The dough is wrapped around a piece of cheese and formed into a breadstick.

3. Chicha ( The dessert ) - Very thick, a creamy smoothie made with boiled rice and milk. It has the consistency of eggnog. we just found out that the version we tried in Santiago, chile is Venezuelan style chicha which is thicker and tastes like dessert. In fact, it is a liquid version of the famous dessert "Arroz con Leche" (rice pudding)

4. Pino Empanada: In Chile, the most traditional empanada filling is called "pino," which is a seasoned mixture of ground beef, onions, raisins, and black olives and are topped with hard-boiled eggs.

5. Paila Marina - Paila marina is a traditional Chilean seafood soup or light stewt that usually contains a shellfish stock base cooked with different kinds of shellfish and fish. These are complemented with a variety of herbs and spices as well.

6. Pastel De Choclo - Pastel de choclo is a South American dish based on sweetcorn or choclo. The filling usually contains ground beef, chicken, raisins, black olives, onions or slices of hard-boiled egg.

7. Ceviche - typically made from fresh raw fish or another kind of seafood cured in citrus juices, such as lemon or lime, and spiced with ají, chili peppers or other seasonings including chopped onions, salt, and coriander.

Santiago is the cultural, political and financial center of Chile and is home to the regional headquarters of many multinational corporations.
