Snake Vs Porcupine
Have you ever imagined what would happen if a python ate a porcupine? Now you do not have to wonder anymore. One of these massive snakes, which suffocates and then consumes its prey whole, recently ate a porcupine and did not live to brag about it. A cyclist riding through a game reserve in South Africa found a very engorged snake on one of the mountain bike paths. The cyclist took a few pictures of the ravenous python and shared them on social media, where they quickly drew the attention of locals eager to see the snake for themselves. As you can see for yourself in this video, this snake looks like it went through a very intense acupuncture session.
But of course, it is not the case. These are the porcupine’s quills piercing through the snake’s body. How painful must that be? In this next clip, this snake tries to kill a porcupine, but the porcupine holds its ground and stabs the snake with a few quills. It is too bad porcupines must fight with their backs to their opponents. I do not think this snake is getting lunch anytime soon. All I can say is a while back, my dog attacked a porcupine and he regretted doing so afterwards. It took me over an hour to retrieve all the quills my dog had on his body. The next time he saw a porcupine, he ran as fast as he could in the opposite direction.
Wasp Vs Tarantula
Tarantulas are known to be vicious predators capable of killing rodents, lizards, and small birds. Spiders have been known to run when confronted with a giant insect. The tarantula hawk wasp hunts down the spider that bears its name, engaging in a brutal battle that ends with the spider being paralyzed by a painful sting. Tarantulas are a perfect meal for the wasp's larger-than-average offspring, so females of the species hunt them. Tarantula hawk wasps must drag an eight-times-their-own-weight sleeping spider to a burrow, lay an egg on the tarantula, and seal the tunnel. The young wasp eats the tarantula to develop into an adult, beginning with the non-essential organs to keep it alive as long as possible.
Watch this battle between a tarantula wasp and a tarantula. It is not much of a battle because the tarantula is already dead, and the wasp is dragging it to its den to feed its young. The tarantula is much larger than the wasp, but the wasp is extremely strong since it can drag the tarantula. In this next clip, you can see the wrestling match between the two foes. They look like two gymnasts practicing their routine for the Olympics, but at the end of it all, the wasp is once again victorious. The wasp wins most battles because it manages to paralyze the tarantula and once that has been done, there is not much the tarantula can do. All I can say is that the wasp is a formidable opponent. Since female tarantula hawks eat nectar and only use their stings to defend themselves, it is unknown how their forefathers learned they had the power to fight a tarantula and win.
