Brawl Breaks out in Washington, DC's, Black Lives Matter Plaza

A brawl broke out in Washington’s Black Lives Matter Plaza on November 3 amid demonstrations in the US capital as the country awaited the results of the 2020 presidential election.

This footage, shot by video journalist Brendan Gutenschwager and compiled by Storyful, shows the moment violence broke out between a man and demonstrators following an inaudible verbal exchange. After grappling with multiple crowd members, the man is struck by a metal bat and falls to the ground.

The video later shows him being escorted away from the rally by what appears to be a demonstrator as unseen protesters shout at the man, with one person yelling: “Now you like black people because a black person saved your a**!”
