WALKING FOOD TOUR: Little Tokyo in Los Angeles, California

This time we’re taking you to a walking food tour in Little Tokyo!

Found near Downtown, LA, Japanese Village Plaza or better known as Little Tokyo is where you could find interesting shops and of course different foods to sample - all within walking distance.

With so many restaurants, you can either choose to dine in or snack on famous Japanese street foods while people watching. Such a fun place to go to!

Today we had takoyaki from Takoyaki Tanota. Ordering to go is so convenient. Just select what you want from the menu, swipe your card, get your receipt and wait for your number to be called.

Of course we can’t miss sampling imagawayaki (red bean cake) at Mitsuru Cafe. This place has been in Little Tokyo for ages and there seems to have a line going out the door, no matter what time it is.

Next stop is Yamazaki niku man (steamed buns). There’s a variety that you can choose from. We opted for the pork and veggie which is the most popular and it’s sooo good!

Finally, since there’s so many sushi rolls in the area, we just had to pick one that caught our attention. Ta-dah! The Jessica Roll from Las Galas. We mean, who can say no to a sushi roll with tempura and crab meat inside? Umai!!!

A few reminders for those who want to visit Little Tokyo: street parking is scarce but there’s a parking structure by the mall. We suggest going there early or at least before lunch time. And remember the golden rule: “If there’s a line outside, the food is good!”
