"The map is not the territory" is a concept introduced by philosopher Alfred Korzybski and is also one of the presuppositions of NLP. It emphasizes the difference between our perception (the map) and reality (the territory). We receive information through our senses, but this information is often influenced by personal knowledge, experiences, and values, causing our perception to not fully reflect reality. For example, news content is simplified and does not always represent the complete truth. We should maintain an open mindset, acknowledge the limitations of our perception, and strive to explore the world from multiple perspectives.
