Shining Star - The Maxwell Project

"Shining Star" by The Maxwell Project, this song was made famous by Earth, Wind, and Fire in 1975. The Maxell Project with a five-piece horn section, three strong lead vocalists, and a driving rhythm section, The Maxwell Project (TMP) is best known for its creative interpretations of the 70s and 80s R&B, funk, and soul music and crowd-pleasing renditions of Earth, Wind, and Fire and Tower of Power classics. Formerly “Maxwell,” the band has recorded three albums of original material, including its most recent release, “Jamaphonic,” and has appeared in concert with numerous R&B Legends including Russell Thompkins, Jr-Voice of the Stylistics; The Spinners; Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes; GQ; McFadden & Whitehead; The Philly Intruders; and The Village People. In 1979, the foundation group “Maxwell” from Columbia, PA enjoyed widespread area radio play with two hit songs—“Radiation Funk” and “A New Star”—both making it into the top 10 on local Top 40 charts.
