Discouragement isn't always about failure - sometimes it's about what we never hear.

One reason so many people struggle with discouragement isn’t because they aren’t capable or valuable. It’s because we rarely receive true encouragement.

We live in an achievement-oriented culture. We praise people for what they do, what they produce, what they accomplish. But real encouragement speaks to something deeper — who you are.

How often do we tell someone that their presence matters? That who they are in a room is meaningful — not because of what they’ve done, but simply because they showed up as themselves?

If you’re struggling with discouragement, don’t take it personally. Sometimes the message just hasn’t been given.

And we can change that.

We can encourage others by appreciating their essence, not just their output. And we can encourage ourselves by reflecting less on our accomplishments — and more on our character, our impact, and the way we show up in the lives of others.

Today, I challenge you to tag someone or tell someone directly that who they are matters — not for what they do, but simply for being them.
