Patrick Mahomes II is an American football player. After starting his football career as a quarterback at ‘Texas Tech University,’ Mahomes went on to play for the ‘Kansas City Chiefs’ of the ‘NFL’ when he was drafted by the team in the 2017 ‘NFL Draft.’ During the 2018 ‘NFL’ season, Mahomes became the third player in the history of ‘NFL’ to contribute with 50 touchdown passes in a single season. As a result of his performance, he was named in the ‘First Team All-Pro’ and ‘AFC–NFC Pro Bowl’ all-star game. The ‘Chiefs’ bounced back in the next game by recording a win against ‘Cincinnati Bengals.’ In the game, he achieved four passing touchdowns, 358 passing yards, and one interception. In the next game, he recorded four passing touchdowns, one interception, and 303 passing yards in a winning effort against ‘Denver Broncos.’
While playing against ‘Oakland Raiders’ in the 17th week of the 2018 season, Mahomes became the second quarterback to achieve 50 passing touchdowns along with 5,000 passing yards. He is also one of the seven players in the ‘NFL’ history to record 5,000 passing yards in a single season.
On January 12, 2019, Mahomes played his first playoff game as a starting quarterback. In the game against the ‘Colts,’ he recorded 278 passing yards and one rushing touchdown to help the ‘Chiefs’ win its first home playoff since 1993. The win allowed the ‘Chiefs’ to compete in its first ‘AFC Championship’ game since 1993. However, the team lost to ‘New England Patriots’ in the championship game.Patrick impressed that season by throwing 5,097 yards, making 50 touchdowns and accumulating 12 interceptions. With the record, Patrick became the only quarterback in history to throw for over 5,000 yards in both college and the NFL for a season! He went on to lead the Cheifs to their first Super Bowl appearance during the 2019/2020 playoffs as well as helped them secure their first Super Bowl victory since 1970.
