Bell Ringing at St Edward's School, Oxford

This was recorded in 2015, when I attended St Edward's School in Oxford. The school is a Victorian foundation, with the 2nd largest quadrangle in Oxford, after Christ Church College. The stone chapel lies at the north east corner of the quadrangle, with a tall tower containing five bells. There is a ring of four bells, with a tenor weighing ~15cwt in the note of F. All four were cast by John Taylor and Co. of Loughborough in 1878. The tuning is... weird to say the least. The bells are tuned to 1, 2b, 4 and 8 of 8 (F, Eb, C and F). The three lightest were hung for ringing, until the 3rd was hung dead at an unknown time for unknown reasons. The front two are still hung for ringing, but hadn't been rung in rounds with the other two since at least 2000 when the last band was present, according to the chaplaincy. This video showcases the first ringing in rounds for a good many years! Sadly, these bells have not been rung properly since I left the school later in 2015, nearly six years ago.
