Camp d'entrepreneuriat dans la région de Saloum
Here in Senegal, youth account for more than fifty percent of the population. The large youth population is regarded as one of Senegal’s national attributes, but at the same time, presents significant challenges in terms of employment opportunities. A large percentage of jobseekers are youth and many of them posses little to no skills and professional work experience. At the same time, young entrepreneurs often face challenges of limited resources and business networks.
In response to the bleak labor market, Economic Development Volunteers of the Saloum region put on a 7-day Business Development Camp in Kaolack. The participates were Senegalese youth looking to overcome the specific employment problems stemming from a lack of experience and a lack of relationships within the business community. The Camp taught the participants how to start their own business as well as soft skills such as creativity, public speaking, and critical thinking. (Full French subtitles included)
