a visual poem, spoken word poem for a hopeless romantic ( or an existential nihilist or however you wanna read it lol )
anyways,

I wrote this poem to encompass in a way, how you feel sometimes when you are in a relationship with someone. It feels existential, weird and...It makes you think to say the least. and I couldn't do it justice before because I wasn't articulate enough but now, I felt like I was
w o r d s //
tell me, oh mysterious human,
if I came a little closer, could I feel
the world breaking beneath your skin,
is there an entire galaxy I cannot see,
in the brink of your silent eyes?
do you think that it might be
possible to breathe without shattering?
Oh, how do you achieve such
an impossible feat? And in what
universe could a smile or a laugh
be any short of a miraculous deed?
I have questions, a thousand questions,
do you think that you could let go
for maybe a minute or a second
the past of our tragic deceits?
If I may ask, beautiful stranger,
what is the secret to your
enamorous allure?
do you dream in endless ecstasies?
do you think in relentless possibilities?
scared of the transience of reality
do you feel, sometimes, like an
unhinged calamity?
and do you know that there are
a million cells within the human body?
a million cells like a million galaxies
fragile and alone, dancing in a chaotic fashion,
a million cells that couldn't stretch
the breath of a voluminous sky
and if you could trace the length
of my skin, you would feel the broken ends
of long-dead catastrophes, beautiful
and broken tragedies,
tell me, have you met
a human in the shape of a ticking time bomb?
there is an entire network of veins,
etched onto my skin in red and blue intricacies,
keeping me together by the seams
And I swear, sometimes, I feel
as if I hide lilac skies under my eyelids
can you bear the burden of an existence?
and there is a fragile chaos to the way
that a thousand neurons fire within my
brain when I think of the insane
possibility of a "me and you"
when I think of the insane possibility
that humans are cruel and dangerous
and that if you looked any further,
you would find horrible truths written
in my eyes
tell me, oh mysterious human,
how did we end up in
the shattered carcass of this
broken universe?
