Alzheimer's, 90 yr old dad paints beautiful flowers, ends up in newspaper

My father has Alzheimer's. I am his full-time caregiver. I find ways to engage him cognitively and create quality of life for him within the insanity of his disease. When he's having a good day we paint flowers together. I paint the stems and he paints the beautiful flowers. It helps him to be in the "here and now".

Recently the Alzheimer's Association asked if we would be willing to share our story with a news reporter. Reporter, Sean T. McGuire of the Sun Chronicle, wrote a wonderful story about us and my father was excited to see himself on the cover of the paper!
