The new C6 COMPACT 3 control system is the right choice for the automation of applications with low to medium complexity. Its control concept is based on the Linux operating system and offers an open microservice architecture. Container based technology allows various software functions to be integrated and organised, offering the perfect combination of functionality and cost efficiency. The system is future-proof thanks to the use of the latest multi-core technology and real-time motion control – programmable via IEC 61131.

Besides the actual machine automation, the C6 COMPACT 3 can also be used to perform various tasks. For example, it can act as a gateway between a higher-level control system and a programmable control system with KEB’s Motion function. Among other things, an OPC UA server (in future also TSN) acts as an interface. The control system can also be used as an HMI server device. It communicates with one or more third party systems and enables browsers to make the contents available via an HMI server. The COMPACT 3 microservice architecture ensures simple integration of various software components.
