5 Minute Photo - Lowell Observatory Timelapse
In January 2014, Lowell Observatory (Flagstaff, Arizona) removed the historic Clark telescope from its dome for a full refurbishment. This 24-inch aperture refracting telescope is nearly 120 years old. It was used be observatory founder, Percival Lowell, to observe Mars and remained in use through the 1960's as an active research instrument. Today, the Clark 24-inch refractor is enjoyed by Lowell Observatory visitors, who get to observe the Moon, planets and other celestial treasures with the historic telescope.
