Sony a7SIII has ONE BIG advantage over the 8k Canon R5

The 8k Canon EOS R5 has completely dominated camera news in 2020 because of its impressive specs: 8K/30 video, 4k/120 slow-motion, and 45 megapixel stills. That's 4X what Sony cameras have been capable of, and we're all accustomed to seeing Sony leading Canon in camera tech. So, where is Sony? SonyAlphaRumors.com brings us news of a soon-to-be-announced Sony a7S II successor, which I'm calling the Sony a7S III (but I wouldn't be surprised if they name it the Sony a7S IV for consistency with the a7R IV and upcoming a7 IV). This video-centric camera is long-overdue. In the past, the a7S series of cameras have had a 12-megapixel sensor which means they can output 4K 1:1 - something no other camera can do. This gives them the benefit of not requiring ANY extra processing, so they can record 4k video with less power and heat... and in the real-world, that might be more useful to professional videographers than the R5's advertised 8K video. The R5 would remain a superior hybrid camera, however, because the 12 megapixel Sony a7S III would produce far less detailed still images than the R5's 45 megapixels.
