The Footnotes of MGSV: Words to Control the Subconscious [Tape Investigation 1]

When MGSV: The Phantom Pain came out, some people thought it only included lots of story content in the form of tapes because it was simply unfinished. This is the start of a revolutionary YT series that seeks to examine whether or not this was the case. If we get enough support, we'll move on to the story itself: but for now, we have to 'set the table' so to speak, with some important context and background information.
We begin simply with the first tape you're given in TPP, 'British Sovereign Base Area - Dhekelia'. This, in turn, opens the door to a wide array of interrelated subjects, that form together a sort of tapestry of meta-meanings.
NOTE: At one point I intentionally change 'unconscious' to 'subconscious'. That has to do with the legacy of Sigmund Freud, who, though widely discredited as a psychologist, arguably, along with Carl Jung, pioneered the very concept that then he called 'subconscious' but today we prefer to call 'unconscious'. This, you see, is an example of 'word control': by saying one, you indirectly conjure to mind the other.

19:26 - Long-form discussion, analysis, and interpretation, George Orwell's "Inside The Whale" (see: https://orwell.ru/library/essays/whale/english/e_itw)
(NOTE: around 31:44 I blend two disparate songs onto each other in the background, subtly using music to enact Orwell's notion of doublethink)

Review of the book, which inadvertently gets at what I was attempting with this video: https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/books/reviews/book-of-a-lifetime-tropic-of-cancer-by-henry-miller-1719362.html
"One might worry that I would have been corrupted by the book. Thankfully, at that point I found it totally incoherent; the page-long sentences unwinding like the ramblings of some drunken poet, wandering from meal to meal, drink to drink...The surrealist stream-of-consciousness style, the impossible mixture of social commentary and autobiographical rantings, did not provide me with the tools I required from so-called pornography. ...I mentally filed it away under "pretentious modernist experiment"."
