50s Sex Education vs Today: Which is better? | Let's Talk About Sex

In this episode of Let’s Talk About Sex we discuss a range of sex educational topics, and how public perception on the subject has changed over time. We see educational films from as early as the 1950s teaching women “how to say no,” and how teaching students about consent is approached differently in modern times. The episode also explores how intercourse positions were taught in school, the unusual contraception methods from the 1960s, and how religions view sex in relationships differently.

Sex education in schools has come a long way, and this documentary explores how the topic of sex being taught in schools has transformed over the years. Before the 1970s, teachers had limited access to sex education films for younger children, and new resources were vitally needed. We invite celebrities to share their insights of learning about sex in school, and see what they feel would have progressed their understanding of the subject in their youth.
