HH Princess Ameerah Al-Taweel, Vice Chairwoman of Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundations was the guest of honor at the GCC Polo Cup in Windsor, United Kingdom, that was attended by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Princess Ameerah gave a speech in front of an audience that consisted of business leaders, philanthropists, and professionals from around the world.

Her Highness commenced her speech by emphasizing the significance of water conservation, a cause raised in this year's GCC's Polo Cup.

"We come here today under the title "Our Water, Our Life", Allah has told us in the Holy Qur'an: We have made from water every living thing, Will they not then believe? Centuries later, science believes. It tells us that indeed, our water IS our life."

She concluded her speech by encouraging the attendees to take action, to be responsible citizens and save water.

"Your water consumption matters. In fact, your environmental responsibility is all that matters. For once, it is us individuals who have the answer. It is us individuals who have the means of making a global impact."

She also commented: "Everyone is capable and no one is immune."

A delegation that consisted of Ms. Heba Fatani, Senior Executive Manager of Corporate Communications and Ms. Najla Tarabzouni, Communications and Media Manager of Alwaleed Foundations, accompanied Princess Ameerah on this event.
Queen Elizabeth II joined by Princess Ameerah honored the GCC team, the winners of the 16th GCC Polo Cup, concluding a social event that aims to bridge the gap between East and West on an annual basis.

The GCC Polo match celebrates "Our Water Our Life" awards ceremony which was introduced by BMG Foundation chaired by Mr. Basil Al-Ghalayini. "Our Water Our life" is an awareness campaign for water scarcity around the world. It was initiated through a student competition in KSA to develop a media campaign for raising awareness about our world's diminishing water supplies.

Princess Ameerah honored the winning team of "Our Water, Our Life" Awareness Campaign competition lead by Haya Al-Yahya, from The University of Dammam who created an excellent media campaign aimed at water conservation that addresses the global water crisis and inspires Arab homes to embrace this culture. Her campaign will be implemented by BMG foundation on TV, newspapers, social media and in the airports from July to December 2012.
