Permission Use Cases for BLE 3W Vehicle Connectivity & Location in Apnaa TVS App

This video explains why our app requests specific permissions to enable core functionalities related to BLE connectivity with a 3-wheeler electric vehicle. Each permission is essential for delivering a seamless experience between the mobile app and the BLE enabled 3W vehicle. Below are the use cases for each permission:

Foreground Connected Device – Required to do continuous data communication between the BLE-enabled 3W vehicle and Apnaa TVS app

Foreground Service Location – Used for detecting and initiating communication with nearby BLE 3W vehicles while the app is running in the foreground.

Access Coarse Location – Required to start BLE scanning since Android mandates location permission for BLE operations on certain OS devices

Access Fine Location – Enables accurate detection of nearby BLE devices to ensure reliable vehicle pairing and communication.

Access Background Location – Allows the app to detect and stay connected with the BLE-enabled 3W vehicle even when running in the background, it also helps triggering BLE connection/auto connection.

Read Phone State – Used to read Phone state information such as battery level and network signal strength during a BLE connection session. This is core feature of the app, where these values will be displayed on the Vehicle speedometer when the app connected over BLE with 3W vehicle

All permissions are strictly used to support app functionality and improve user experience with the BLE enabled 3W vehicle. No data is misused or shared.
