Reims-Gueux Circuit All layouts onboard POV - Improved Edition

This is an improved video of all track versions of the abandoned circuit of Reims-Gueux in France. It shows track maps with an indicator, so we know exactely where we're on the circuit.

Also a voice over by Simon Smith. During the onboard laps he tells about the history of the Reims-Gueux Circuit, and the changes to the layout.

About Reims-Gueux Circuit:
The Reims-Gueux Circuit was a street circuit with a permanent pit lane, grandstands and other facilities. It was operational from 1926 to 1972, and most famous for the French Grand Prix, which was held here 12 times between 1950 and 1966. But next to Formula One races it hosted also the annual 12 Hours of Reims.

After the last French Grand Prix in 1966, the Reims-Gueux Circuit was used for national races and the 12 Hours of Reims.

But the track became outdated and closed in june 1972. The day after the last race they started the demolition of the pits. However, short after the start of the demolition a new mayor ordered to stop it. But the First pit boxes were already been demolished.

After 30 years of decade, they made new plans to restart the demolition of the buildings and built new houses on the site in stead.

Fortunately, the foundation "Les Amis du Circuit de Gueux" was founded to save the remains of the old Reims-Gueux Circuit. They get permission to restore the buildings and the guarantee that nothing would be demolished anymore.

The restauration started in 2004. First they had to clean it up, because after 32 years of decay the buildings were overgrown. Since then, the pits and the buildings around are restored. And in 2020, they want to start to restore the old grandstands.
