The ultimate (genuine) ''Art Deco'' building !

The Chrysler Building on Manhattan Island (New York City) is considered the ultimate ''art deco'' building, representing art deco building styles which flourished in the 1920's and 1930's......''Art deco'' styles (of all sorts of things) originated in France prior to 1920.

This is a GENUINE art deco building completed in 1930, not an 'imitation' art deco building constructed sometime in the 2000's.(And there a number of those).

It should be noted that the owners of the BUILDING do not own the land it sits on, so they have to pay a hefty annual ground lease (rent) to the owners, The Cooper Union (university) to whom the land was donated free in 1902. The current ''ground lease'' is $32.5 million per annum !
