The Black Hole of White Canyon

The Black Hole is a dark 2.5 mile slot in White Canyon just above Lake Powell in south central Utah. It contains numerous long, cold swims and narrow, twisting slots. Brad and I decided to check it out last September. A few days prior to our trip the Lake Powell drainage had seen a lot of rain and White Canyon had flashed. When we arrived, the water was back to normal levels but there was a bit of flood debris throughout the canyon. Still easily passable, however.

Definitely one of my favorite trips here in southern Utah!
