Cigar Box Guitar - EBE Tuning

People ask all time what gauge strings I use for the EBE tuning. I typically use an acoustic medium set phosphor bronze... ADG strings (all wound). Then I tune down to EBE. I like the the sloppy slinky looser feel AND I like the sound of the lower register. In my opinion the lower tuning is more suitable for the cigar box guitar. Also, the lower tuning puts less tension on the neck...which is a good thing since there is typically no truss rod on these instruments.
