26.Percorsi ASSOLUTI: locali e web (ABSOLUTE paths: local and online)

Un percorso assoluto è l'indirizzo completo e univoco di una risorsa (file o cartella), partendo dalla radice (o cartella principale del File System).
Sia C:\Users\Alice\Foto\mare1.jpg che https://www.artemia.it/chi-siamo.html sono percorsi assoluti, il 1° è locale su PC con sistema operativo Windows (infatti usa il backslash per indicare la radice C:\ ed i separatori) mentre il secondo è un URL (ossia un percorso assoluto che funziona su Internet).
La struttura dell'URL è più complessa, giacché contiene il protocollo di comunicazione (https://), il dominio completo (www.artemia.it) che identifica il server (cioè il PC sul quale si trova "fisicamente ogni file del sito navigato"), la directory del sito (ovvero il primo slash dopo il dominio) ed il resto del percorso (chi-siamo.html) che coincide con il nome del file cercato.

Il browser lavora con l'URL e richiede al browser il file in esso indicato, mentre il server (che riceve la richiesta) lavora con file presenti sul suo disco; elaborata la richiesta, fornirà il contenuto chiesto.
Lo slash radice dell'URL corrisponde SEMPRE ad una cartella fisica del file system del computer server.

Both C:\Users\Alice\Foto\mare1.jpg and https://www.artemia.it/chi-siamo.html are absolute paths. The first is local to a Windows PC (it uses a backslash to indicate the root C:\ and separators), while the second is a URL (an absolute path that works on the Internet).
The URL structure is more complex, as it contains the communication protocol (https://), the full domain (www.artemia.it) that identifies the server (i.e., the PC on which "every file on the site being visited" is physically located), the site directory (i.e., the first slash after the domain), and the rest of the path (chi-siamo.html), which coincides with the name of the file being searched for.

The browser works with the URL and requests the file specified therein, while the server (receiving the request) works with files on its disk; once the request is processed, it will provide the requested content.
The leading slash in the URL ALWAYS corresponds to a physical folder on the server computer's file system.
