Albert Collins (1932-1993) was an American blues guitarist known for his unique style of playing and his use of a distinctive tuning known as "E minor tuning." Born in Leona, Texas, Collins grew up in a musical family and began playing guitar at a young age. He was heavily influenced by other blues guitarists such as T-Bone Walker and Gatemouth Brown, but developed a style of his own that incorporated elements of jazz and funk.

In the 1950s, Collins began performing with a band in Houston and gained a reputation as a talented guitarist. He signed with Imperial Records in the 1960s and released a number of albums that showcased his innovative guitar playing, including "The Cool Sound of Albert Collins" and "Love Can Be Found Anywhere (Even in a Guitar)." In the 1970s, Collins signed with the Alligator Records label and continued to release critically acclaimed albums such as "Ice Pickin'" and "Don't Lose Your Cool."

Collins' unique playing style, which included a use of heavy reverb and a distinct "ice pick" sound, earned him the nickname "The Master of the Telecaster." He was also known for his powerful stage presence and his ability to connect with audiences through his music.

Collins received numerous accolades during his career, including induction into the Blues Hall of Fame and a Grammy Award for his album "Showdown!" which he recorded with fellow guitarists Johnny Copeland and Robert Cray. He continued to perform and record up until his death in 1993, leaving behind a legacy as one of the most innovative and influential blues guitarists of his time.
