TRIP REPORT | ATR into Heavy Winds! | Binter ATR72 | Gran Canaria to Tenerife

Binter Trip Report flying from Gran Canaria to Tenerife onboard one of the Binter ATR 72-600 on a very windy day in the Canary Islands.

A very nice and interesting flight with Binter Canarias from Gran Canaria to Tenerife North airport (Los Rodeos). From time to time, there are some extreme windy days in the Canary islands, with gusts up to 40-45 knots during all day. This was one of those days.

Already before departure, we could see the strong wind on the plane: the propellers were moving all time (eventhough that they were blocked) and the plane was shaking alrady on the ground with the wind. Once in the air, the airplane started to shake until we reached the cruise level. After a short flight, we started the approach into Tenerife with very strong crosswinds and turbulence. A very nice experince, just reduced by the very dirty windows on this ATR.
