One dead, one critical after shooting at family crawfish boil in northeast Houston

Police say a man was shot and killed, and another man was critically injured, during a shooting at a family crawfish boil in northeast Houston earlier this morning.

According to police, an altercation broke out at the family gathering on Bretshire before the shooter opened fire on the two men.

One victim died at the scene. The second victim was driven to a hospital in critical condition, and the shooter was detained at the scene.
