Concern over whether government’s spending is ‘working against’ RBA
Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood says there has been growing concern over whether the government’s spending is “working against” what the RBA is trying to achieve.
Mr Greenwood joined Sky News Australia to discuss the upcoming federal budget which will be released on Tuesday, May 14.
“Right now as we sit here, according to some forecasts there’s been an extra $11 billion worth of spending by this government," he said.
“But then according to Chris Richardson for every $7 billion of extra government spending, it’s equivalent to around a 0.25 per cent rate movement.”
