Vijay Singh, the 2000 Masters champion, has officially withdrawn from the 2025 Masters Tournament due to a back injury, marking a major absence from this year’s field. The 62-year-old golf legend informed Augusta officials on Monday and will miss out on playing at Augusta National, where he earned lifetime exemption after his iconic win.

Singh's withdrawal is part of a growing list of notable former champions sitting out this year—including Tiger Woods. That brings the total to 17 past champions not in the field for the 89th edition of The Masters.
