In brief: I live in Canada. I used a DIY kit to paint my bathtub. Kits in Canada are formulated differently than kits in the USA. The results were not good. Two months later it already was pealing. Two years later it looked horrible, as shown in this update video:

We've finally got the shower in, and couldn't be happier that this saga has come to a close.
