Bordeaux Couture Cake Tutorial: Texture Techniques with ErgoPin & Ekat’s Rolling Pins

I’ve just launched my new Bordeaux Couture online cake course inside Ekat’s Club, where I teach the full couture-inspired cake design including textures, edible lace, sugar flowers, colour work, finishing techniques, and modern luxury cake styling.

In this tutorial, I’m demonstrating some of the texture techniques used inside the course using the new ErgoPin handle together with Ekat’s Collection of Textured Rolling Pins.

The rotating handle system helps create smoother, more continuous rolling movement, allowing the texture to flow more consistently across the fondant without interruption lines or uneven pressure marks. It also gives much better control and reduces strain on the wrists and hands, making it especially helpful for decorators who experience hand fatigue, sore wrists, or arthritis.

You’ll also see how I prepare the fondant, apply the textures, and work with the rolling pin step-by-step to create elegant couture-style cake details directly onto a real cake.
