PART 1: President Rodrigo Roa Duterte asserts the Philippine government’s position on the West Philippine Sea, underscoring that diplomacy shall remain an important part of resolving the disputes peacefully.

In his weekly Talk to the People message, President Duterte discusses pressing matters regarding the disputed waters and invites former Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile to the meeting. The Chief Executive reiterates that he shall exercise all of his duties and responsibilities in safeguarding all territorial waters of the country, saying that the Philippines will not waive its position on the issue.
