Balea Lac to Moldoveanu and back in 1 day

This video shows the trails from Balea lac to Moldoveanu (highest point in Romania with 2544m altitude above sea level). The route is not for beginners and not many people do it in one day, but rather in 2 days. They sleep at Podragu cabin. The route is about 13-14 km in both directions and has more than 2200m altitude gain (and loss). What is also unique is that the entire route is above 2000m altitude. Romania's call this trail: Moldoveanu intr-o zi.
Because reaching Romania's highest peak takes some skill and stamina it was not frequented much. However, as you can also see in the video, organized groups now take a shorter route from the base of the trapezium, by driving pretty much to the base of the mountain over a long 2 hour forest road. From there the trail is only 5.5km and can be done in 2-2.5 hours if you are trained (it still has more than 1200m of altitude to gain. These groups however take around 10 hours to do the whole 11km. This results in the peak ridge to be very crowded during summer months. Luckily we were able to pass the people as we announced we came from very far.
