Which Airport is The Busiest in The World Right Now?

You won’t believe where the World’s Busiest Airport is right now!

During the COVID Pandemic, Anchorage Airport has become the World’s Busiest Airport. It was able to achieve the status of number one due to its volume of cargo operations, not passenger flights.

With Anchorage’s unique geographic location, it is experiencing a great variety of planes passing by; including the world’s biggest airplane, the Antonov-225, calling into Anchorage six times recently.

I visited Anchorage a while back, it was full of B747 cargo, lots of B747-8Fs, B777Fs and MD-11Fs. The Boeing 747 Dreamlifter is also calling into Anchorage on a regular basis. The airplane variety is fantastic at Anchorage! There are also a lot of classic airplanes too, such as DC3s and DC-6s that are still flying daily in to and out of the remote community of Alaska. In normal times, Anchorage is usually the fifth busiest cargo airport in the world and the second busiest cargo airport in the United States.
