Budget 2021 'The Street View' I Prashant Jain ET NOW exclusive

Executive Director & Chief Investment Officer HDFC Prashant Jain spoke exclusively to ET NOW. He said that value Investing will outperform over the long run. Therefore, he advises looking at historic PE ratios as last year was challenging in the markets.

“One cannot ignore the low cost of capital in the valuation of the equity and at every level, the question is that if the Indian markets are overvalued or not.” says Mr. Jain. He believes strategic divestments is likely to be supportive for stocks.

“Indian IT companies have delivered seamlessly despite WFH situation. I believe IT stocks are fairly priced in at current levels,” Mr. Jain added. He is of the view that as asset quality concerns wane; banks will begin to do better.
