'It's like a jungle sometimes it makes me wonder'
Nature, on the one hand, is a wonderful thing, and on these beautiful, early summer mornings the lane are literally alive with creatures of all denominations.
You'll see the badger making his way home, the odd glimpse of reynard, wood pigeons a plenty, every species of corvid on the planet, the odd startled muntjac, a few of last years pheasants, who through luck more than ingenuity survived the season and of course the humble rabbit.
All doing there thing, going home, just waking up and generally doing what they do,except one suicidal bunny, who for some reason, decided to take on my car and lost,.
Living in the countryside this is nothing new, drive down any country road or lane and you'll see a myriad of species who didn't quite make it to the otherside, Id never seen anything like this one thou, it ran straight into me, head on, bullseye.
I'll spare you the details, but it's safe to say, I got out and did the right thing and dispatched it promptly, its the least I could do...
But me being me, I was not going to leave it for said foxes, or, the wretched carrion, so I put it in my boot, took it home and knocked up this lovely rich stew.
Made with cider, tomatoes, vegetables, stock and of course the Rabbit.
Mother nature, on the other hand, can be cruel, its a flippin jungle out there...
I could of drove on, but I couldn't/wouldn't leave it, my conscience wouldn't allow it...
Am I going soft? I don't know, but one thing I do know is, I made a wonderful meal from it, rather my belly, than the foxs, crows, so on and so forth, you know the score. #SRP
