Are Spider Webs Actually Stronger Than Steel? | Experiment

Could spider man swing on actual spider silk? Would it be strong enough? Today I test out this question by comparing spider silk and steel tensile strength to see which is actually stronger. First I locate a good spider web made by a garden spider in my garden. Then I make the necessary weights to add to the spider web incrementally. The spider web holds an amazing amount of weight for how thick it is (over 400 Mpa!) Then I use that tensile strength to determine the amount of weight that a 22 gauge steel wire should be able to hold if it is the same strength.
