Sony ZH8 (Z8H) 8K TV Review: Best LED LCD of 2020

We review the Sony ZH8 (also marketed as the Bravia Z8H in the USA) 8K TV, and think that it's the best LED LCD on the market in 2020 in terms of picture quality.

Topics covered include contrast performance including full-array local dimming, colour accuracy, motion handling, video processing, HDR presentation including peak brightness, gaming including input lag, as well as 8K tests.

For the 8K resolution tests, we used a PC outputting 7680x4320 pixels from Displayport on an NVIDIA RTX card, and a Displayport-to-HDMI 2.1 adapter into HDMI4 input on the Sony ZH8. Note that we are in uncharted territories in terms of 8K testing methodology here, so there's a small possibility that errors might have been introduced.

Our Sony ZH8 review sample is the 75-inch Sony KD-75ZH8, model number KD75ZH8BU which is the three-pin-plug UK version.
