The wrestling dynasty's patriarch, Fritz Von Erich, recalled finding Kerry's body at their Texas ranch. Kevin Von Erich explained possible motivations leading up to his younger brother's death, including a motorcycle accident that left him with one foot, plus the looming threat of a prison sentence following a drug charge at the time. At a tribute ceremony, Kerry's peers from the professional wrestling community remembered the 33-year-old athlete, who his fans also knew as 'The Modern Day Warrior.' Speaking with ET, 'Gentleman' Chris Adams, David 'Angel of Death' Sheldon and more praised Kerry's performance abilities in his final years and reflected on his 'puppy dog' personality off the mat.
