"85% of day traders fail."

The implication is usually that you shouldn't even bother trying.

But look at almost any career or goal with exceptional rewards and you'll find exactly the same pattern.

Around 90% of startups fail. Yet people continue building businesses because the potential reward is worth the risk.

Fewer than 2% of college athletes ever make it to the professional level. That doesn't stop millions from training every day.

The majority of actors and musicians earn very little despite years of work, yet they continue because they love what they do and believe they can succeed.

Around 85% of people abandon their New Year's resolutions before the middle of February. The problem isn't setting goals. It's staying consistent.

Around half of people who begin a PhD never finish it. That doesn't mean earning one is impossible. It shows how difficult long-term commitment really is.

Trading is no different.

The high failure rate doesn't exist because profitable trading is impossible.

It exists because most people underestimate how much work is required to develop a real edge.

The market doesn't reward ambition.

It rewards preparation.

It rewards risk management.

It rewards consistency.

Anything that offers exceptional freedom, flexibility, or financial upside will naturally have a high failure rate.

If it were easy, everyone would do it.

The question isn't whether most people fail.

The question is whether you're willing to do what most people won't.
