ঢাকার অদূরে রাজবাড়ীর গোয়ালন্দ ঘাটে গড়ে ওঠা দেশের সর্ববৃহৎ পল্লী। সম্ভবত বিশ্বের সবচেয়ে বড় পল্লী এটিই। পদ্মার নির্মল হাওয়া আছড়ে পড়ে এর কাচা-পাকা টিনসেটের তৈরি ঘরগুলোতে। সরকারী ও বেসরকারী পৃষ্ঠপোষকতায় গড়ে ওঠা দৌলতদিয়ার এই পল্লীতে শিশু থেকে পৌড় বয়সের প্রায় দেড় হাজার কর্মী রয়েছে।
